BAND
The school band at Good Shepherd aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn to use various instruments, develop concentration, value coordination and harmony, become more systematic, foster cooperation, widen their interests, gain prestige and recognition through participation in challenging programs, and entertain others. The School band holds a significant role in the cultural activities of our school and plays a major part in the sports day celebrations, from performing during the march past to playing the National Anthem. The instruments taught to the students include Drum, Side Drum, Trumpet, Cymbals, and flute. It is widely believed that this musical activity is not only educationally sound but also psychologically and socially sound. Through their participation in the band, students become more attuned to their environment, leading to personal growth and self-improvement. The band also fosters understanding and strong bonds among peers, granting the students a genuine sense of belonging and acceptance within various social groups.BAND

Our students engage in the enriching practice of yoga as part of the activity program of the school. Yoga is a beautiful blend of physical postures, breath work, and mindfulness and promotes overall well-being. Our dedicated instructor guide the students through relaxing yoga sessions, fostering a deeper connection with their bodies and minds. Through yoga, our students not only develop strength, flexibility, and balance but also cultivate qualities like focus, patience, and self-awareness. We believe that introducing yoga to our students will have a positive impact on their physical health, mental clarity, and emotional resilience. Scouting and Guiding are more than just activities; they are life-changing experiences that shape young minds and build future leaders. We are proud to offer this enriching program to our students. Through Scouts and Guides, our students learn essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. They explore the great outdoors, fostering a love for nature and a sense of responsibility towards the environment. The program instils values like honesty, respect, and compassion, making our students better citizens of tomorrow. It promotes self-confidence and independence, empowering them to face challenges with courage and determination. Scouts and Guides Movement is a journey of adventure, friendship, and personal growth. Our dedicated mentors Mrs. Mary P.T and Mr. Ganesh inspire students; guiding them to be their best selves. The Scout and Guide companies of Good Shepherd are some of the most active in Kodagu. It promotes a healthy lifestyle and teaches the importance of physical fitness. At our school, we encourage every student to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
Whether on the field, court, or track, we believe in giving our best and supporting one another. In the field of Sports, the Good Shepherd Flag is always held high. Whether at Inter-School, District, Zonal or State level competitions – Our “Sports Super Stars” have won many laurels for the school be it in Tracks, Field games such as football and Hockey. It is another factor which boosts our pride.
HOUSE SYSTEM
We have implemented the House system to promote a strong sense of collective responsibility and co-operation among our pupils. The students are divided into three Houses: Shanthi, Preethi, and Keerthi. The House system aims to foster a positive and supportive environment where students from different classes come together as a cohesive unit. Through various inter-house activities, competitions, and events, the students develop a sense of camaraderie and team spirit. Each House encourages pupils to collaborate, work together, and support one another. It instils in them the values of responsibility, empathy, and mutual respect.
The House system not only enhances their social skills but also nurtures leadership qualities as they learn to take on different roles within their House teams. The healthy spirit of competition and cooperation in the House system builds character and helps our students grow into well-rounded individuals. It also provides a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills beyond the academic realm. Together, as Shanthi, Preethi, and Keerthi Houses, we create a vibrant and inclusive school community where every pupil feels valued and contributes to the collective success.

Environment Club

Sports Club

ELC Club
An Electoral Literacy Club is a platform designed to promote awareness and understanding of the electoral process among citizens. These clubs aim to educate individuals about their rights, responsibilities, and the significance of participating in democratic elections. By organizing workshops, seminars, and campaigns, Electoral Literacy Clubs help empower citizens to make informed choices during elections and contribute to a more vibrant and engaged democratic society.
Language Club
It a place for language learners to learn various languages in an informal setting outside regular classroom teaching. Members of the language club often participate in speaking, listening , reading and writing activities. It helps them to enhance their skills in these activities.
Science Club
Explores the wonders of science through hands-on experiments, projects, and discussions. Our Science Club encourages students to develop a keen interest in the world of science and technology. Demonstrations enlighten the students. Life histories of scientists motivate them. Hence Science club helps in the development of our country by giving shape to our future scientists. A sense of curiosity and a scientific spirit is instilled in the students.
